No trouble after finding the Australian distributor who supplied the firmware on a cd within 2 days with instructions that were simple.

I was emailed a Sansui firmware update (baojin_sansui_dr218_080103b.bin) to correct the mismatched dates/days issue (note this only affected leap years).  Unfortunately this new firmware has this same problem but is now scattered throughout the next several years.

Unlike the previous issue, there isn't a readily apparent pattern to the problem. For 2008 both January and February are fine. In March to August several days are missing although the dates display.

I was using the timer record entry to check and found that the days that don't display for 2008 are:

March 1, 3-8, 10-15

April 1-5, 7-12

May 1-3, 5-10

June 2-7

July 1-5

August 1-2

The rest of the months are fine but there are some problems during the next 5 years as well. The main problem this causes is that any multiple timer-record settings that fall on these days will fail to record.

If you have already updated your recorder a temporary fix for this year is to change the calendar to the year 2036 and change 2009 to 2037.
