Greetings to one and all,
I have a Sansui Audio Note A-4 Stereo cassette player/Radio/CD in one that is pretty old but works and sounds even better than the lastest clones out there. The only difference, i notice, in the performance of this unit between then and now is, a considerable drop in amplification. I wish to know if there are more users , of this classic compact model and request them to please share their experiences with all of us here.
Since this is a very dear gift from my Dad, i wish to maintain it for as long as i can. Besides,i must say, through all these years of trying, i never found anything quite like it, that ever came close to replacing it. Its a typical example of the saying "Old is gold", its truly one of its kind.
Those of you who have had the pleasure of owning one, please share your experiences. Those who haven't,this is my attempt to bring about an awareness of this great product. It would be a shame if it went unnoticed.
Thanking you in advance. God bless you all.

Unfortunately I don't know anything about the model Sansui Audio Note A-4.
I'm getting a little bit curious. Can't you take a pic of it and show us all what you have.

Hey there Alex!!! Wow!! Your words "Clean as diamond" really take on a new meaning for me. Those are the pics Keeper asked for, but I could not provide even one, the unit was safely stacked in an unknown location. Alex? Where are you at right now? USA? Europe? Middle East? I m asking because I wish to get my unit in a working condition from a professional technician who can help restore it in pristine condition. I am have been looking out for another unit too, I would gladly buy it, but everywhere I go, I am the only one who owns one. Do you know more friends who own a similar masterpiece? Do you still have the original Adaptor? Any chance you can take a close snapshot of the power adaptor unit that shows the specifications? If you still retain the original User Manual, that would be great, otherwise I will try to get my User Manual scanned and mail it to you. Thank you for posting your pics and great mail. Looking forward to hearing from you.

How are you doing? I hope you got my mail. Sending you this post just in case. Let me know. You will be equally delighted to know, that I received a mail from another gentleman who possesses one of these babies. He has placed a request for the User Manual in his mail to me. I will scan it asap and send it to him as well as to you. Give me sometime to get that arranged. Will try to get a legible scan of the original manual. Hope you guys benefit from the manual and preserve it :-) God bless you. Have a great day!!! Write in. Take care. See you soon.

Hi Barry & Alex,
I too have a mint audionote a4. 100% working off ebay in 2003 for $45. Whoever has a manual, I'd love to have one. Either email or a hard copy, I'd cover printing and mailing expense. email:firstname.lastname@example.org Cheers, Ed

I picked up one of these a while back and it has problem with low sound also, more the right speaker than the left. I have just taken the unit apart and got some info on the amplifier chip, had a guess and found the fault for low sound, leaking caps under the tape deck C173 & C273 Sorry no manual here either Cheers Chris

I face a similar issue with the sound. I am an Electronics and Communication Engineer and was hoping someone could lend some advice on where to begin. Thank you so very much for giving the lead on the Caps under the tape deck.

Have you replaced the caps? Is the sound normal now? Are there other issues you are facing with the unit. If you find the time, please share a detailed analysis and troubleshooting tips you may have encountered when working on this unit, to restore it to mint condition.
Sorry no manual here either
No worries man.
