In other words, it appears that Sansui high-end amp department became independent organization after April of 2000 as Aqua Audio Lab.  Therefore, it wont be surprising to hear that Aqua Audio Lab has already developed a prototype for the first 21st Century model that is a direct descendent of the last and the best Sansui 07 Series, AU-Alpha907NRA.

This is exciting news to say the least, and there're some things that makes me curious on this prototype.

Firstly; who's the supplier for the transformer;

Tamura, who supplied for all hi-end mossfet Sansui models, and that from, what I believe was first used on the AU-1111 Mos V, till the very last 07 series, which is, I believe the AU-al907NRA.

or is it

Hashimoto Electric, who was the supplier for many Sansui tube units, including the AU-111 Vintage, (and perhaps, 'The Tube'??) and who include ex-Sansui employees.

Aqua Audio Labs or Sansui?

Now if Hashimoto Electric is the supplier; this amplifier might bear the classic Sansui logo because this transformer company have right to it, or this amplifier might bear the name ,'Aqua Audio Lab', and have the Sansui logo's on the transformers only.

Hi Deniz,

These are very good questions.

Transformer Supplier? -----  What I heard of was that the company who used to produce transformers for Sansui high-end transistor models does not make those transformers any more.  This is not confirmed I could/will confirm that in a future.

The Tube Transformers? -----Transformers on "The Tube (B-209)" were not from Hashimoto.  Most parts on this amp were made in the US.  Since this amp did not have "The Sansui Sound", it did not sell.

Ex-Sansui Employees with Hashimoto? ----- Mr. Ishiguro, Mr. Sunaga, and Mr. Mitsui.  They are very nice gentlemen; they have made me think how Sansui employees were when Sansui was in 1960's and 1970's.

Aqua Audio Lab or Sansui Logo? ----- All depend on how comfortable they (Aqua Audio and Hashimoto) feel about the future of Sansui brand.  Technically speaking, they should be able to use the Sansui brand name and logo, but ....

The AU-Alpha607NRA bears a sriking resemblance to the Denon PMA-2000R integrated amplifier, which I own. The control layout is not exactly the same but very close. I wonder if any Sansui engineers went to Denon? Can anyone fill me in on this?

I have no information if someone went to Denon from Sansui.

To be a likelyhood Denon must have just copied the Sansui looks because Sansui was a leader – the safest thing to do for followers.

suggest me a way for making the system working as it is costly item.I am really disappointed with the behaviour of mumabi service centre saying that we could not repair the system .with sansui lossing it credibility like this...I want my trolley system A909 to start and would like to enjoy.

hoping for a favourable response.

All amps can be repaired and I guess that Mumabi Service didn't have the Service Manual. If so, it can be found at http://gallery.bcentral.com/GID4884061-Shop.aspx?SearchString=a909&SearchButton=%26nbsp%3Bsearch

Please be aware that A-909 has nothing at all to do with AU-Alpha907NRA.

The latter represent the highest of fidelity where A-909 belongs more to midfi. Sorry to say that but it's true. (See picture of AU-Alpha907NRA)

I have to understand that the AU-Alpha907NRA amplifier is the last model made by Sansui or by Aqua Audio Lab? How many pieces of this amplifiers where made ? What would be the price now ? Does anybody something like that to sell? Is Aqua Audio Lab making any audio gear enymore?

Thanks!!!

HELP!!!! I have a sansui AU6900 intergrated amplifier. The amp started putting out a cracking sound to the speakers at a mid volume and now has stopped working completely. When connected to speakers it puts out a constant harsh static like sound?  Any info and tips about this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Today 12/2/08 I have the same thing going on precently with my nice 88 'sx1000 pioneer receiver! I cleaned the circuit boards with isoprofor acohol & compressed air at best ,but only to made things worsen. I noticed as i pressed on the metal frame i heard a electric grounding sound & buzzing clicks. Quessing maybe some transistor or other component is causing a grounding problem? Did you ever get any other solution HELP! replies on how to our related amp problem? If so, Please! let myself know by my att email address!  THANKS! CR
