Replacement model for SR-929

I have a quartz-servo sr-929 turntable, and I was wondering if there are any left for sale, or a replacement/upgrade model. I didn't find this model on the site. I've had this turntable for 30 years, and what's been happening as of late is that one channel is significantly lower than the other (like hearing out of only one speaker). My amp works fine (through the CD player, tuner, etc), and I was thinking it could be the phono cartridge (from audio-technica, an
AT405LP), but as I was testing it one day, the tone arm moved slightly to the right, making when I put the cartridge back on, it was leaning directly on
the record! After adjusting it back into place, I'm back to where I started
from. Newer cables didn't help either. What could it be? Thanks for any info you might have on the subject...

Forum: Sansui - Hi-Fi Models

It mentions the AU-X1, do you have this issue? I am very interested to know what is written about the AU-X1.

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370279580540&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:tope

Regards from New York,

Fred.

Forum: Sansui - Modified / High Ends

771 vs. 881

I have a 771 and have recent look inside an 881 and was very surprised to find
they are very different inside and on the rear. Is it that much different?
Also I have heard the 771 is not a very desirable receiver, is the 881? And are the 'DC' receivers such as the G5000 or an 8900ZDB really that much better?
Thanks for help with the neophyte question.
Tim

Forum: Sansui - Hi-Fi Models

SPX-11000 Speakers

Hello Gentlemen

Yes, i'm still lurking about in the shadows.

I had a gentlemen post a question to me from seeing here that i have the spx11000 speakers and his problem is that the connectors between the 2 boxes are basically failing, and is looking for an alternative to the original plugs. Has anyone else had this problem, and what are some thoughts as to what a person might want to do to fix these. The connections on both mine are ok so i didnt really have a good solution for him.
I tried to attached a picture of these speakers for anybody unfamiliar with this particular set as i believe alot of people have never seen them.

Thanks for you time Gentlemen
Regards

Gavin

Forum: Sansui - Modified / High Ends

Sansui SM-A1400F help needed

My teenage son has just bought a Sansui SM-A1400F power amplifier. I have searched the internet for information, but find nothing relevant.

Can you advise me on where to find data/specifications/manuals etc. I would hate for him to destroy it while trying to get it to work. In particular he needs to know the speaker connections for the different channels, and the power rating of the unit.

Thanks

Forum: Sansui - Other Models

I am attempting a repair of a Sansui Six receiver

Good day,

I have been trying to restore a Sansui Six receiver. I have problems with one of the channel blocks (F-1439-1).

There is some noise emanating (hiss, pops)from whatever channel the block is plugged into. In addition, the relay that (I assume) turns on the amp power stages does not always function with the offending block plugged in.

I have replaced the 2 large electrolytic capacitors and I am in the process of obtaining the 2 T0-220 transistors.

Am I on the right track?

TIA

jimB
Forum: Sansui - Hi-Fi Models

giveaway 1960s Sansui 800 reciever

Hi all!
I have had a few Sansui products over the years and Ive liked the all . Some of my hobby's are vintage hifi and speaker building/restoring. I happen to own an old 800 receiver that works but has some contact- and pot-issues making sound varying. As I'm currently cleaning out alot of old stuff due to decreasing space issues... :
If any enthusiast on this forum is fancy it as for restoring it or for spare parts I will give it away for shipping and a small package and handling fee (. say 12 bucks plus shipping). I'm located in Sweden. The condition is excellent, near mint, except from above mentioned issues. Original schematics is included!!
As it is an issue posting emailadresses in bulletinboards due to spamspiders crawling the net I would like a proposal how to safely exchange contact information from anyone interested in this item posted here.
Nils-ke/Sweden

Forum: Sansui - Hi-Fi Models

sansui g-801

A friend of mine purchased a g-801 on ebay and it is great shape, however he seems to be having what he thinks is a power output problem. First question, is this unit tapped for 120v or 220v? The manufacturers cord appears to be a 120v style, but am only guessing. Second question, if this unit is tapped for 220v and swapped cords to a 120v cord, could that be a problem? I am an electrician, but not superior when it comes to electronics, so I bow to your expertise in this matter. Any help would be much appreciated.

Forum: Sansui - Modified / High Ends

No sound output from G-7000

Hello all! I am in need of some help. A few months ago i turned on my mint G-7000 and heard a loud pop. It had no sound output after that but still powered up. Upon removing the covers I quickly realised that RL601 on the F-2858 power board was not working. I replaced TR609 transistor that controls that relay and walla, the relay worked! The right channel worked as well, but not the left. All i got get out of the left channel was a "pop" when I connected a speaker to it. The wattage meter for that channel did not work either. All I had was the right channel. Now the right channel has stopped working as well. I have traced the signal to the balance control board and I have signal "in" and "out" on both left and right sides into and out of the volume control. Where do I need to look next? What is the possible problem? Can anybody help me fix my beloved G-7000? Thanks for you help!

Forum: Sansui - Hi-Fi Models
